VA 2 The Rescue
Virtual Assistant to Real Estate Agents
It was 1999 when I accepted my first real estate job, I was the receptionist in a large office of 80+ agents in Westminster, Colorado. During that year I felt somewhat like a bartender - everyone tells you things about their deals, but I rarely got the "whole" story. I always wanted to know more, so I took the leap to "unlicensed personal assistant" for an agent team. This is where I "cut my teeth" and learned how to handle files, clients and marketing skills.
In Colorado there is no licensing for assistants, so I pursued an associate brokers license. On April Fool's Day 2003, I earned my license. I never really wanted my name on signs or be a full active agent, I wanted to be able to show property and help out without any worries about the legalities of what I could or could not do. I was an in-office assistant for 3 years after I earned my license. I even hired virtual assistants as part of my duties - when the time came to take the next step in my career becoming a Virtual Assistant was the logical place to advance to.
My experience in the "field" and in a "brick and mortar" office sets me apart from many Virtual Assistants - I know and understand the day-to-day life of a real estate agent!
Being a Virtual Assistant allows me to do what I like best in the real estate world! I can use my real life experience, my knowledge of products, and my many years of experience to rescue agents and allow them the time to do what they do best! Agents need to be face-to-face with clients, showing properties, listing homes and not stuck in an office handling all the admin tasks! I can do that from behind the scenes and help keep the pipe line flowing.
I realize that hiring someone you will most likely never meet can be a challenging concept for many! Often times real estate agents struggle with "letting go" of the tasks that tie them to a desk, I understand this as well.
Hiring a Virtual Assistant has many advantages; you don't have to have a desk, a computer or even a phone for a Virtual Assistant. No vacation pay, no time off, no training on systems or products, not even a lunch break! As your Virtual Assistant you only pay me when I am working, if things are slow you aren't paying me to sit around and wait for the phone to ring! If it takes me 10 minutes to do a task for you that is all you are paying for!
One more advantage - I am connected to a world of other VA's, we share ideas and information about products (new and old as well as tricks on using them), systems and pricing. I offer suggestions and price analysis for ideas you may be exploring. Just imagine not having to do all the research and deal with the learning curve! It's like being thrown a life preserver and being RESCUED!
